On July 12, 2022 (three months from now), Microsoft will no longer support SQL Server 2012. This marks the end of Extended Support for SQL Server 2012; and Microsoft will no longer publish security updates, after that date.
At that time, Platypus will also drop support for SQL Server 2012. Platypus installation and upgrades will still be allowed on SQL Server 2012, but subsequent releases of Platypus may introduce new features incompatible with SQL Server 2012. Those new features will either require upgrading to a newer version of SQL Server or require remaining on older versions of Platypus.
As part of this policy, any releases of Platypus that occur after July 12, 2022, will block installation and upgrades on SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2.
