As of October 10, 2023, (twelve months from now), Microsoft will no longer support Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2. This marks the end of Extended Support for these products; and Microsoft will no longer publish security updates, after that date.

At that time, Platypus will also drop support for Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2. Platypus installation and upgrades will still be allowed, but subsequent releases of Platypus may introduce new features incompatible with those versions of Windows. Those new features will either require upgrading to a newer version of Windows or require remaining on older versions of Platypus.

As part of this policy, any releases of Platypus that occur after October 10, 2023, will block installation and upgrades on the following versions of Windows.

  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows 7
